The sun wasn't gleaming brightly like any other days, temperature's lower than usual. The skies adorned white clouds, as the sun sporadically pierces through the cottony clouds. The voice of my brother exclaiming for me to get up thundered inside my head: "Ateeee, gising ka na! 8:30 na! Ligo ka na!". The words sank slowly as I turned to the other side of the bed: "Okay. 8:30 na... Waaaaah. 8:30 na?"
Hurriedly, I got to my feet, went straight to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, took a bath, put on my house clothes, dried and fixed my hair, picked my Christmas party clothes, wore it, then powdered my face in a span of 45 minutes. My stuff is everywhere! Papers lying on the floor, bags opened, sheets undone. The previous night was quite taxing. I had to edit our paper for Test Con, prepare my things for the over night at Ruthee's crib not to mention, get the gifts ready for our block' s Christmas party. Whew, a lot of things going on there! And really, it wasn't fun seeing myself run from one spot of the house to another. >.<
On our way to school, another hard luck struck my already unlucky day: TRAFFIC JAM!
Damn, Nice timing. It's already 11:30. Party's at 11. And still where am I? In the streets of Mandaluyong for crying out loud. A text message got me even more panicky: "Psy dep na ko glad". Shoot! I have our group's output and I totally forgot that the deadline's at 12nn SHARP! Good thing, I was already in EspaƱa. The same exact moment my feet got on the grounds of UST, I made my way to the 3rd floor main building. Too worried that I might not get to my destination on time, and with much desperation, I used the elevator. As I opened the Psychology Department door, shrills welcomed me. Marko and Ruthee were waiting with the envelopes still at hand. Yay! I made it on time. Thank God! :)
At this point, the heat was scorching. My forehead beaded with sweat. Walking to Jollibee Asturias wasn't easy taking into consideration how much my hands were loaded with paper bags, 3 bags for the record and my knapsack stuffed with clothes. >.< Finally, we arrived at the venue. My block mates were eating their hearts out digging into hefty servings of spaghetti, chicken and fries. Plus a jolly sundae for dessert! Yum! :)
The party went well. The games definitely got the energy all pumped up and made everyone eagerly ready for the impending exchange of gifts. People seriously went ecstatic the moment Sugar announced the next game: Newspaper dance. If I remember it right, 3 pairs took part of it. Kayle/Pj, Meme/Rossann and Marko/Nokie. Screams rumbled the entire vicinity, cheering for their own bets. The Kayle/Pj tandem was certainly a hit. :)) As predicted, Marko and Nokie bagged the prize. But what really got me laughing so hard was what Marko told us after. It'll be far off safe to just keep it as a secret. :)
The most awaited part of the program finally came. Gifts were given to their respective receivers, smiles laced the pretty faces, thank you's uttered with glee. Digging deeper, it was at this peak that the true essence of Christmas unveiled its glorious mystery: SHARING. :)
Happy Christmas, Everyone! :)
